Dr Taghrid Tahoun
Dr. Taghrid Tahoun (MBbCH, MsC, MRCPsych, PGCertMedEd) is a highly experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children, teenagers, and their families. She holds a Master's degree in Neuropsychiatry and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is currently the ADHD lead consultant in the East Lancashire Child and Adolescent Service and is leading the renovation of the academic programme for specialty training in Child and Adolescentg Psychiatry iin the North West of England. Dr Taghrid is the voice behind 'Your Friendly Child Psychiatrist ', a podcast that breaks down complex mental health topics to support young people , carers and professionals.Dr. Tahoun specialises in the assessment and management of a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental difficulties, including ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, anxiety, low mood, and complex presentations. She offers comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnostic opinions, risk evaluations, and tailored treatment recommendations to help families better understand and support their children.Her practice is grounded in a compassionate, family-centred approach that values collaboration and clear communication. Dr. Tahoun aims to create a safe, welcoming space where young people and parents feel heard, respected, and empowered to move forward. She offers appointments both in person and remotely, with the option to consult in English or Arabic to ensure accessibility for diverse families.

WHO CAN MAKE A REFERRAL ?Dr Taghrid accepts referrals from GPs , parents, carers, or young people themselves .
Dr Taghrid will only accept referrals where she can provide value to patients and families. She is has limited availability but will aim to review all referrals and respond in a timely fashion.WHAT DOES DR TAGHRID OFFER ?Dr Taghrid provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnostic opinions, and treatment recommendations for children and teenagers with emotional, behavioural, or developmental difficulties. Where appropriate and helpful , Dr Taghrid will offer an appointment . Dr Taghrid can offer face to face appointments in South Manchester , and can offer an appointments online internationally. Appointments are available in English or Arabic.

Assessment Fees
Our fees are transparent and reflect the time and expertise required to provide a thorough, high-quality assessment.• Initial Assessment (90 minutes + summary report): £600
Includes a comprehensive clinical evaluation of notes prior to review, full psychiatric asessment and neurodevelopmental screening ( Autism and ADHD ) and management recommendations . A detailed written summary of findings, collaborative formulation , clinical diagnosis and recommendations is included.
• Follow-up Appointment (if required- 60 minutes): £300
